Doris' Autumn Blog Post
Hi Everybody!
First, I hope you’ve all had a great summer. I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, but please don’t worry—it’s been busy around Overlook! We’ve had lots of company over the past few months, and I’ve been enjoying spending time with my good friends.
Time has passed so quickly, and I can’t believe that the holidays are right around the corner. It seems like yesterday that so many of you were in Carmel to celebrate my birthday and help raise money for the precious four-leggers. I’ve heard how much you all enjoyed the festivities—Scottie Dreier’s show, Jim and Laura’s concert and the VIP reception and Q&A with my Hollywood pals, Jackie Joseph, Bernie Kopell, Kym Karath and Brian Nash. You’ve all made DDAF’s fundraiser weekend a huge success, and I’m overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. We’re able to help so many animals across the country because of you, and I hope you’ve been following DDAF’s Facebook page to read about just some of the happy endings. We’ve also posted photos from the April weekend here—I hope you enjoy them. Many of you have already been asking about next year, and I know my friends at DDAF are working on it!
With the holidays approaching, we’ll also be introducing a new Christmas ornament, as last year’s seemed to be so popular. Stay tuned—we’ll let you know when it becomes available in our online store.
As autumn nips the air, my doggies and kitties are enjoying the cooler weather, and so am I! Halloween is a fun time for everyone, but I want to remind all of you to be extra careful with your pets when trick or treaters come around. Be sure to keep them safely inside and safeguard them from getting into the Halloween treats—they can be deadly.
Please also remember the homeless “fur babies” who are not fortunate enough to be someone’s beloved pet. While I always love hearing from you and receiving your cards at the holidays, nothing would thrill me more than for you to make a donation to the animals instead of sending any personal gifts to me. I have so much, and they have so little. Please visit our website at www.ddaf.org to make a donation of any amount. Even pennies help.
Thank you again for all of your love and support. I love you all!
Toodleloo until next time!
Doris
